The Captain

Affinity is a family owned and operated cruising company. Diane and Daughter Vicky manage the office and the shore side support systems along with their friendly & helpful staff and Brian is the ships Master. Brian has been at sea all his working life and now has over 40 years of continuous nautical experience.

The Captain

Brian has been at sea all of his working life starting as a deck hand on an old sailing scow straight from school. Before leaving Auckland where both Brian & Diane had lived and worked all their lives Brian was a Tug Master for the Auckland Harbour Board where he was entrusted to bringing in the container ships and cruise liners that visit this very busy port.

Brian’s favourite area to cruise in is Fiordland and rates his helicopter flight in to Doubtful Sound in 2006 as one of the most amazing experiences in his life.

Brian has now been the Master of Affinity for more than 12 years.

Tina Chef and Decky

Our Chef and Decky – TinaCook / Decky

Tina originates from the Kapiti Coast and has been part of our crew since July 2006.

With her bubbly personality and her “can do anything” attitude she is a delight to be around. She welcomes guests with open arms at the beginning of each cruise and before the end of the cruise she has become a friend of many.

Tina’s culinary delights from such a small galley are legendary.

Tina’s favourite area to cruise in is Stewart Island and she rates the wildlife – the whales, dolphins, seals and the huge variety of birds as one of the many highlights so far in her journey with us
